“My mother has a photo on her wall of my empty wheelchair on the bank and me rowing off into the distance and she reminds me that I said getting into a boat and leaving the wheelchair behind was freedom from disability. Moving the boat through the water you forget that you are disabled, it makes you strong mentally and physically providing protection from the physical and mental health issues that can and do befall those with long term disabilities. Who knows how many disabled people would like to have a go, but are put off by the lack of infrastructure, volunteers and equipment.” Rob
