Meet our trustees and… get involved.

We are always looking for new trustees to get involved with this local project. As we grow, so does our need for support, expertise and fresh eyes. If you are able to contribute towards Just Row Gloucestershire moving forward in an all inclusive and positive direction, we’d love to hear from you.

Indiajane Cox

Founder and Trustee

Indiajane gave up her career as an Art Director working for the Financial Times Weekend Magazine to look after her children and soon discovered rowing at Twickenham Rowing Club, London. After a number of years rowing on the tideway for London Rowing Club, Quentin and Mortlake, left the city for Gloucestershire with her three children where she set up Just Row Gloucestershire. As well as working on this initiative, she coaches juniors to row at local schools in the area.

Ben Gallagher

Trustee

Former Special Forces, Ben Gallagher served over 16 years in the British Army but whilst on active duty suffered life changing injuries. Following complex trauma Ben went through a long period of recovery including months of rehabilitation but resilience, optimism and determination are qualities that highlighted his consistent drive to succeed before becoming a Professional Athlete.

Ben has gone on to achieve many great things and shares his story of overcoming adversity before going on to complete tough endurance events, arduous expeditions and competing in elite sports.

Brand ambassador, charity fundraiser and mental health advocate Ben thrives when supporting young people, military personal and members of the disabled community through his connection to many great organisations.

Rebecca Lees

Trustee

Rebecca started rowing in early 2012 and quickly began helping others to learn to row as the sport had a rapid growth after the Olympics. As a member of Gloucester Rowing Club she became involved in all elements of the club from coaching learn to row sessions, organising events, coxing and made significant efforts in fundraising to help the build of the boat house. Rebecca frequently competed in both local and national rowing events.

As an experienced logistics professional used to managing a wide range of people she loves to bring her motivational approach and energy to JRG whilst enjoying the opportunity to help others gain through this fantastic sport.

Kate Dogherty

Trustee

Claire Earl

Trustee

Claire has been a foster carer for over twenty years, working with disadvantaged children and young people, plus those seeking asylum and those with learning difficulties. She’s a great believer that everyone should have equal opportunities to participate in activities and sport, giving them a sense of belonging and a sense of achievement, boosting their self-esteem and confidence. She sees what a difference such participation can make. Having never been a “sporty” person, Claire has personally reaped the benefits since taking up rowing in 2018 on a Learn to Row course and it’s had a huge impact on her life, both for overall well-being and gaining great friendships.

She has been a trustee since the middle of 2023 and feels passionate that other people, who may not have previously considered rowing, or had the opportunity to row, can discover the benefits too.
